A nattu marunthu kadai (நாட்டு மருந்து கடை, "country medicine shop") is a traditional Tamil herbal store that sells dried roots, barks, leaves, seeds, resins and ready-made powders used in Siddha and household remedies. Most are small family-run shops near temples, vegetable markets and old bus stands, and the shopkeeper usually weighs items by hand from labelled tins and gunny sacks.
